October 5, 2004 (Rockwall, TX) – The Rockwall Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Special Products and Manufacturing, Inc. will occupy a new 130,000 square foot building in the Rockwall Technology Park for their corporate headquarters. The $4,500,000 facility will be located at the southeast corner of Discovery Boulevard and Innovation Drive on a 10.231-acre site. The building is expected to be completed and occupied within eighteen months.

Special Products and Manufacturing is in the business of precision metal fabrication and mechanical assemblies. Total employment at the new facility will be approximately 175. Their new facility will house the manufacturing, warehousing and administrative operations of the company.

“The new Special Products and Manufacturing building will be a major addition to the growing Rockwall Technology Park. We are looking forward to the groundbreaking. Special Products and Manufacturing will fit in well with the impressive list of high tech companies already doing business in the Park,” said Gary Martin, Chairman of the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors.

The first phase of the 275-acre Rockwall Technology Park opened in 2000. This premier business park is located at State Highway 276 and FM 549 just south of Interstate Highway 30. The Park now includes eight businesses with two subsidiaries of Fortune 500 companies. Total building area in the Park is approximately 513,000 square feet. The Park has attracted $40 million in new investment.
